About Me
Hi, I’m Lisa. You can expect me to be warm, interactive and engaged with you in therapy. I believe in the ability of relationships to heal individuals and change communities. I primarily use solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions with individuals. This means that while I am interested in, and will honor, the elements of your past that have contributed to your today, I believe in finding answers and practical tools to address your current concerns. I will not only listen, I will ask questions, provide real feedback, and help you find tangible solutions to your problems.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California who provides psychotherapy services to individual adult clients in California. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from the Wright Institute in 2015. I spent my first couple of years as a therapist working in various agencies in San Francisco that provided therapy and case management services to individuals receiving Medi-Cal. I opened my private practice in 2019 which is devoted to inclusivity and social justice. I am committed to providing socially and culturally sensitive therapy services, including but not limited to LGBTQ+, kinky and polyamorous individuals.
I am competent in working with individuals who are trauma survivors, are grappling with life transitions, and who struggle with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem symptoms. I can help you learn to communicate better and support you in breaking free from negative relationship patterns. Therapy should help you build confidence, change the ways that you see yourself and others, and find alternative behaviors that serve your life goals.
Personally, I’m an exercise enthusiast who spent over a decade working in the fitness industry before becoming a psychotherapist. I find the connection between my own physical and mental health inextricable. I’ve lived in the Bay Area since 2008 and am grateful to call California home. Finally, I’m a wife and mother who is acquainted with the unique difficulties of working, partnering and parenting during the pandemic.
